Auckland World Championships

October 25, 2012 By Carol Hughes

Auckland World Championships held on October 22nd.
Sprint Distance Triathlon: Morgan Marsh 5th place 30 to 34 years.
Olympic Distance Triathlon:
Janet Ferguson 3rd 50 to 54 years, 1st Australian.
Andree Carr 6th 55 to 59 years, 1st Australian.
Katherine Ryan 8th 40 to 44 years, 1st Australian.
Jacinta O’Connor 15th 45 to 49 years, 1st Australian.  A pleasing result after an abbreviated winter of training and only her fourth Olympic Distance Triathlon.
Henrietta Ireland ran a strong race based on Ironman training, not a lot of leg speed for this event.
Dianne Oliver (prodigal daughter) back from the UK finished middle of the field in 55 to 59 year group. She is coming home next weekend! Hooray. AND, will get back into more consistent training. No more European jaunts for a while.
